Question:
I’m leaving the UK to work overseas. How do I become non-resident?

Answer:

Provided you are working full-time overseas, you will need to ensure that both your contract and your absence from the UK encompasses a complete tax year (6th April-5th April). Before going overseas, you should complete form P85, which is an income tax form from HM Revenue and Customs which will notify the tax man that you are going overseas.

Residency rules are changing so please contact us for further advice on this subject.
